High Temperature Strength

Joints exhibit strengths comparable to the base material and do not degrade at high temperature. (The following results obtained from joined SiCf/SiCm composites.)

Flexural Stength = 138 MPa, tested at room temperature

Joints can be tailored to exhibit tough behavior. This is desirable when joining silicon carbide advanced composites.

The thermal conductivity across the joint exhibit high thermal conductivity and increases with heat-treatment temperature.
